Lesson #3: SEASONAL DESIGN

As we are experiencing yet another change in the seasons....along comes a shift in weather, nature, moods, social activities, work, trends, fashion, interiors, food....etc, etc, etc.

What an amazing gift of inspiration from the universe! Four times a year we accept and adapt to these organic and inorganic shifts, invoking new thoughts and patterns in our somewhat regular routines.

Designers often look to the fashion industry for inspiration....and because fashion is so dependant on seasonal changes, it is hard not to get trapped in a particular season for a project that should actually transcend all seasons.

Nature, for this very reason, has always been my core collaborator. It is unpredictable, not trendy, organic, and most importantly, something we will have to deal with forever.

Designing a home or structure that can be enjoyed ALL YEAR ROUND is paramount. One should never deny the earthly elements when piecing together a clients wishes and wants, because nature is ultimately who decides whether your hard work and ideas stay or go.
